INTRODUCTION:

ISO 45001:2018 is an internationally recognized standard that sets out the requirements for an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OH&S MS). The standard provides a framework that organizations can use to manage and continuously improve their OH&S performance. ISO 45001:2018 focuses on the prevention of work-related injuries, illnesses, and fatalities by promoting a proactive approach to managing occupational health and safety hazards.

The standard was developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and is designed to be compatible with other management sysystemstandards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. ISO 45001:2018 replaces the previous standard for OH&S, OHSAS 18001, and applies to organizations of all types and sizes.

Implementing an OH&S MS based on ISO 45001:2018 can provide several benefits, such as reducing workplace incidents and injuries, improving employee morale and productivity, demonstrating legal and regulatory compliance, and enhancing the organization’s reputation.
