Introduction:
This course is created to give participants the skills and understanding required to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations. The course covers basic life support skills, as well as the management of common medical emergencies, such as heart attacks, choking, and bleeding. The course also covers the correct use of first aid equipment, as well as the importance of personal safety when providing first aid.
Course Objectives: By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider
- Recognize and respond to a range of emergency situations, including cardiac arrest, choking, and bleeding
- Perform basic life support skills, including CPR and the use of an AED
- Manage shock and minor injuries, such as burns, strains, and sprains
- Understand the importance of personal safety and infection control when providing first aid
- Use first aid equipment correctly, such as bandages and dressings
